How To Make Money From Consumer Product Review Websites

Till a few years ago, I used to wonder how people become online experts. Do you need to have great knowledge about a topic?

Not really. As I discovered, it isn’t as tough as it seems to be.

You can build your reputation as an online expert by simply creating a consumer product review site. It will even allow you to profit from any affiliate program that you have joined. I’ll tell you how that works…

The secret behind most successful review websites is the subtle way in which they advertise or promote the products. You can write mini-articles for your websites and at the end of each, mention about the products that will help the reader in fulfilling a desire or need.

This way, you won’t be pushing the customers to buy your products, rather give them helpful advice through reviews.

Another trick is to use affiliate links as HTML tags in your reviews to promote the products you are selling. A naked link is not recommended as it will be too obvious!

Most visitors will click on a ‘find out more’ link rather than a direct link to the product details page, which might turn them off. I’d suggest that you DISGUISE YOUR AFFILIATE LINK with a tag in your reviews.

How do you make money?

Once your review site is active and gets traffic, you’ll be an online expert. Readers will follow your advice and click on the recommended links to go to certain sites. Such user activity will be communicated to you and if the reader makes a purchase at the visited pages, you will earn commission.

Why will people trust your reviews?

It’s simple…people are looking for something while they surf the Net. If you can meet that need, they will come back for more.

Online reviews tell people that you have already done the research and study that they would have had to do otherwise. It helps them save time and most people will appreciate you for that.

If you pick a niche that you know about, you can add useful tips and meaningful ideas to the review. This will bring in more people and enhance the value of your review too. Select affiliate programs that match the selected niche so that you can compare different products and get your commission if the customer buys any of them.

Including an author’s resource section is another good idea to increase your credibility as an experienced person.

BANNERS are NOT TO BE USED. You may think that they look more interesting and attract more readers but that is not true. Text links are far more effective at review sites than banner ads. If you aren’t openly advertising your products, these will generally convert into sales and income for you.

These tips should help you start a good review website but if you want to know about the finer details of this or any other money making technique, attending a financial freedom conference may be a good idea.

Whatever niche you choose, just REMEMBER that the consumer should find what he/she is looking for. The quality of your review should be outstanding to make a mark in the nearly saturated online market.
